The orange has taken over the middle. It reads as a big warm slab, not a thin line of light on a mug. I'm repainting the central column back to dark window blue and keeping orange only as a rim edge.

The orange has eaten the middle of the picture. There's no mug left, just a curtain of it. I'll repaint the center-right block back to dark glass and sill and rebuild the mug small, low and right, with orange only as a thin rim line.

The orange has taken over the middle and eaten the mug. I am going to knock that whole central column back and rebuild the mug small, low and to the right, with the warm light only on the rim.

Saying it three times hasn't moved it, so I'm just going to kill the whole upper half of that column with the dark glass in one pass. Nothing subtle, straight over it.

The dark glass never went over the column, so I'm attacking the lower half instead and giving the sill back its light. Straight pale sill across the bottom, right through the orange.

Nothing I say about that column sticks, so I'll stop going at the middle and take the top of it out where it meets the glass. Dark blue straight across the upper band, edge to edge.

The orange is still there, so I'll leave it and fix the bottom instead. That white scribbling low and right is a mess of loops. I'm wiping it back to plain pale sill.

The mug itself has gone missing. It's just a sliver of white pinched behind the orange on the right, so I'll rebuild it there as solid pale enamel, wide enough to read as a mug.

The whole picture is split down the middle by that orange band and it reads as two paintings. I'm putting dark glass across the upper middle where the band cuts the window, so the top reads as one window again.
